Fuckyeah! Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange...

It looks like Marvel is ready to move forward with a live-action Dr. Strange film! Dr. Strange is one of my favorite Marvel characters and it’s a no brainer for Marvel to make it the next big film on their list. This very well could be the first major motion picture under the Marvel Entertainment/Disney banner. I’m really excited about this! Dr. Strange will make for an incredible film. 

 

Marvel has hired Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to write the script for the film which puts Dr. Strange into actual development! This is the same writing team that wrote the new Conan film that I’m not looking forward to. They also scripted the live-action adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for Sony Pictures, as well as a draft of Jon Favreau’s upcoming film Cowboys & Aliens. 

Dr. Strange is a self-centered New York surgeon who was robbed of his hands after a car accident due to nerve damage. Strange found his way to a healer in the Himalayas, where he learned to tap into psychic powers to battle evil wizards, demons and other evildoers.  

Marvel Animation actually made a great animated movie based on the character. If you haven‘t seen it yet, I highly suggest you check it out, I think you’ll enjoy it.
